Title: DevOps Engineer - Azure, Python & Terraform Work Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 Contract: 3 years On-Site role Job Description: β€’ This position will support the new Enterprise Decision Support and Data Governance (EDGE) organization. β€’ This organization is a compilation of months of work to define how the Technology Organization (TO) and business will work, what roles each team will play, and how to engage both organizations in support of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) positioned in the business. β€’ This position will help advance the TO Data Management and Data Analytics strategy by increasing our capabilities to deliver rapidly and efficiently while providing excellent value for the organization. Position Overview: β€’ As a DevOps Engineer in EDGE, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the tools, processes, and infrastructure necessary to support the development and operation of our data platform including web applications. β€’ You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software releases while maintaining the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Infrastructure Automation: Design, implement, and manage automated deployment pipelines using industry-standard tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, TFS, CI/CD) for continuous integration and continuous delivery.Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts using tools and services available in Azure DevOps to automate provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components. β€’ Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement robust monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues.Collaborate with development teams to optimize code and configurations for improved application performance. β€’ Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across the entire infrastructure.Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards. β€’ Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and provide technical expertise on infrastructure and deployment strategies.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns. β€’ Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Participate in on-call rotation for handling incidents and providing timely resolutions.Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventive measures. Core Responsibilities: β€’ Azure ML & AI Resource Provisioning: Automate the deployment of Azure Machine Learning workspaces, compute clusters, and model endpoints. β€’ Azure Application Services: Deploy and manage web apps, APIs, and App Service Plans using Azure DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). β€’ Azure Databricks: Provision and configure Databricks workspaces, clusters, and jobs using ARM templates or Terraform. β€’ Azure Data Lake Storage: Automate setup of Gen2 storage accounts, access policies, and integration with analytics services. β€’ Security & Governance: Ensure RBAC, managed identities, and network security rules are applied consistently across all services. Skills to Emphasize: β€’ Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform. β€’ Familiarity with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Python for scripting deployments. β€’ Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for ML and data workflows. β€’ Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for observability. Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. β€’ Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on supporting web applications. β€’ Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. We use Azure. β€’ Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and experience with automation tools. β€’ Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). β€’ Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. β€’ Understanding of networking, security, and performance optimization principles. β€’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Additional Responsibilities: β€’ Work with data architects and business stakeholders to create and maintain a web portal interface. β€’ Lead and participate in the rewrite of the existing web portal to implement an interface design published by the EDGE Business Team. β€’ Facilitate alignment of standards across all technology platforms, working closely with Architects, data-focused teams, and infrastructure teams to optimize application code. β€’ Ensure data integrity, security, stability, resiliency, sustainability, growth, and performance.
