Epitec is seeking a visionary and experienced DevOps Engineer to take a leading role in architecting and operationalizing the DevOps strategy for our Automotive Client's business-critical API Gateway (Apigee). What You'll Do:
β’ Spearhead DevOps Evolution: Lead the engineering effort to re-imagine and modernize the DevOps tooling, processes, and operational mindset for our mission-critical Apigee API Gateway.
β’ Champion Site Reliability (SRE): Design, build, evolve, and automate the production operations of our API Gateways, embedding SRE principles to ensure exceptional availability, performance, and efficiency.
β’ Global Collaboration & On-Call: Actively participate in a global on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 10 weeks, in a "follow the sun" model), collaborating with a talented international team to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.
β’ Drive Strategic Alignment: Work proactively across diverse organizational boundaries (engineering, product, security) to champion and implement the enterprise-wide DevOps API Gateway Strategy.
β’ Build and Innovate: Develop robust application software and automation tooling leveraging cloud-native architectures across a full stack of technologies.
β’ Embrace Quality-First Development: Utilize test-driven development (TDD) methodologies to deliver high-quality, resilient, and maintainable technical solutions.
Skills Required:
To thrive in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in modern DevOps practices and cloud technologies:
β’ DevOps & CI/CD Mastery (5+ Years)
β’ Distributed Systems & Cloud Expertise (5+ Years)
β’ Demonstrable experience working within Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira, Rally, or similar.
β’ Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, GoLang, or C++, enabling you to build effective automation and tooling.
Experience Required:
β’ Proven experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Tekton, Jenkins), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), and advanced deployment techniques (blue/green, canary releases).
β’ Deep understanding of REST API design, web service implementation, and experience with distributed architectures running on platforms like CloudRun, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
Education Required:
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Education Preferred:
β’ A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
