Role description
DevOps Engineer - Azure (Contract) Location: Remote with occasional day on site Contract Type: 9–12 months (with potential extension) Start Date: October 2025 Rate: up to £425/day IR35: Outside We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of our clients Azure-based container infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in enabling continuous integration and delivery, ensuring system reliability, and embedding security best practices across a greenfield technology platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in cloud-native environments, understands the nuances of container orchestration, and is passionate about automation, scalability, and secure delivery. Key Outcomes • Deliver and maintain a secure, scalable Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environment. • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for containerised workloads. • Ensure compliance with cloud security policies and access controls. • Support containerisation of legacy applications and new services. • Enable monitoring, alerting, and incident response for container workloads. • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and team knowledge sharing. Skills & Experience Essential: • Proven experience with Azure cloud platforms. • Hands-on expertise with: • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) • Docker, Helm, container orchestration • Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates) • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD automation. • Experience with secure cloud architecture and compliance frameworks. • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
