Role description
Akkodis is seeking a –“DevOps Engineer” for a Contract position with a client located Remote. Pay Range: $50 -$55/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.). Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure and automation team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, security, and automation. You will work closely with developers and other engineers to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve the overall developer experience. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt on AWS. Manage and optimize Kubernetes workloads using EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI. Deploy and manage applications using ArgoCD for GitOps-based continuous deployment. Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for infrastructure and applications. Maintain and enforce security best practices and compliance standards. Collaborate with development teams to understand infrastructure needs and ensure reliability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve system and deployment issues in staging and production environments. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering role. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.). Proficient with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure as code. Experience managing Kubernetes clusters, especially on EKS. Experience with Jenkins and GitLab for CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with ArgoCD for Kubernetes application delivery. Strong understanding of Git workflows, containerization (Docker), and Helm. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go. Solid grasp of networking concepts, security best practices, and infrastructure monitoring. Nice to Have: Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience with service meshes (e.g., Istio) and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). Familiarity with policy-as-code tools like OPA or Sentinel.
