Job Description
Position: DevOps Engineer - GSI
Scope (2 To 3 Lines)
The DevOps Engineer is in charge of building, managing and improving toolchains to build, release, deploy and test automatically our Grid Systems Integration products, supporting our SDLC (software development life cycle).
Essential Responsibilities -
• Contribute to set up and improve our infrastructure for builds, releases and CI/CD process for multiple concurrent releases of a set of integrated products.
• Implement CI/CD build principles, write scripts to build pipelines and to automate tasks.
• Manage and improve release process to ensure scalability and efficiency, identify bottlenecks and solutions. Focus on scale and efficiency. Deploy the right builds across environments.
• Implement / integrate automated test solutions
• Validate deliveries by participating in integration tests, ensuring that quality criteria are met and ensuring overall consistency of deliverables
• Document procedures for building and deploying
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through the definition, dissemination and application of good practices, standards and processes. Identify and propose technology choices, analyze their impact
• Help businesses to develop an overall strategy for deploying code. Contribute to planning and strategy with his/her ideas. Draw off experience in order to influence others
Qualifications/Requirements -
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience
• Proven experience in the deployment and management of a CI/CD infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure, code and version management tools such as Git, SVN, Apache Subversion.
• Strong knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (e.g. Jenkins). Knowledge and mastery of tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, Kubernetes is a plus
• Demonstrates expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks with tools such as python, perl
• Experience with Linux and Windows, good knowledge of LDAP (Active Directory) administration is highly appreciated
• Experience with Agile software development, project management methodologies
• Good knowledge of virtualization (VMWare, VCenter, Hypervisor) is highly appreciated
