Swoon is actively seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the team of our client - a fortune 1000 company!
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level IT systems. In this role, you will drive architectural improvements, ensure the resilience and security of production and non-production environments, and support global IT teams with advanced technical escalations. This position is ideal for a highly self-motivated professional who thrives in complex infrastructure environments and is comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems focusing on performance, lifecycle management, security, and scalability.
• Lead architectural improvements for cloud and on-prem environments—hardware, networking, monitoring tools, and application platforms.
• Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes (K8s) and OpenShift.
• Provide Tier-3 technical support for VPN, remote access, virtualization, and server infrastructure.
• Drive capacity planning, disaster recovery solutions, and infrastructure standardization.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors; review and approve technical invoices.
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or DevOps roles.
• 4+ years of experience designing and maintaining infrastructure systems.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and OpenShift (required).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, Citrix, and/or vSphere.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux/UNIX environments.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls) and security tools.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange (2003–2016) and Windows Server environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
