DevOps Engineer – AWS Specialist (Contractor) Approx. £77,000 - £85,000 | London (On-Site) About the Role Work with internal teams to build and scale critical transportation systems. Drive projects end-to-end, from writing and editing code to building metrics, back-end services, and scaling AWS-based infrastructure for global deployment. Migrate dependencies and data across AWS regions while reducing technical debt and developing greenfield solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated AWS infrastructure deployment • Apply infrastructure-as-code best practices using AWS CDK and related tools • Use GenAI tools to map infrastructure to CDK • Support multi-region data migration (S3, RDS, DynamoDB) • Collaborate on monitoring, alarming, and operational excellence • Advise on AWS best practices Basic Qualifications • 3+ years with AWS services and SDK • Expertise in AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code • Experience with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes • Proficiency in Java, Python, or TypeScript • Strong CI/CD pipeline development skills • Knowledge of monitoring and observability Preferred Qualifications • Experience with serverless (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway) • Familiarity with EMR, Spark, Glue • Event-driven architecture (EventBridge, SQS, SNS) • Knowledge of DynamoDB, RDS, and AWS databases • Multi-region deployment experience • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
