Role description
Lead DevOps Engineer | AWS, Pulumi & Fargate | Disruptive Tech Group
• OutsideIR35 £550-£650 DOE
You’ll be joining a forward-thinking tech group made up of three innovative companies, a creative media brand, a marketing agency, and a SaaS analytics platform redefining how digital data connects the physical world. Your mission: help scale cloud infrastructure across all three brands as they move through a high-growth phase, bringing stability, automation, and next-level reliability to their systems.
You’ll take the lead on infrastructure strategy and hands-on delivery, working closely with another experienced DevOps Lead. With billions of data points flowing through the platform and projects that push boundaries in encrypted consumer technology, this is an opportunity to make a huge technical and strategic impact.
What They’re Looking For (Non-Negotiables):
• Strong DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience (5+ years)
• Pulumi - used for all IaC
• AWS, especially ECS, EC2, Route53, and networking
• Fargate or equivalent i.e. Kubernetes, although you will not be using Kubernetes in this company
• Data appreciation: Experience managing databases at scale. Our client uses MongoDB Atlas and PostgreSQL on Aurora
• Strong data-handling mindset, you’ll be working with billion-row dataset
• Solid understanding of scalable, resilient infrastructure design (multi-region, multi-cloud)
• Ability to set up new technologies independently and optimise for latency, speed, and cost
What You’ll Work With
• Cloud: AWS (ECS/Fargate, S3, Aurora Serverless, EC2, Route53, VPCs, CloudWatch)
• IaC: Pulumi with TypeScript
• Networking: VPN via TailScale, Global Accelerators, Azure VNET integration
• Data: MongoDB Atlas, Postgres on Aurora Serverless
• Pipelines: GitHub Actions for CI/CD
• Hosting: Fly.io and Vercel for front-end deployments
• Scale: Multi-region replication, 3-cloud backups, and private Azure failover
Nice to Haves
• Experience with Kubernetes or migration to Fargate
• Background in performance optimisation for large-scale data systems
• Exposure to analytics, media, or streaming environments
• Strong mentoring or leadership experience in a small engineering team
Why Join
This is your chance to join a group building something genuinely new, an infrastructure that could make their competitor's product obsolete. You’ll work alongside world-class engineers on systems used by global names in retail, media and entertainment. The environment is mature, collaborative, and built on trust, no micro-management, just ambitious goals and serious tech.
You’ll have the freedom to shape new environments, experiment with emerging cloud technologies, and be part of a scaling team with a clear vision and strong backing from recent investment rounds.
Employee Benefits
• Remote-first culture with London HQ (new office coming soon) everyone is working from home at the moment with no mandated office working hours
• Flexible working hours
• Opportunity to grow into a Head of DevOps or Technical Leadership role
