Role description
DevOps Engineer
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)
Rate: £450 - £500 per day
This contract role offers full remote flexibility and the opportunity to work across a broad set of modern DevOps tools and cloud technologies in a fast-moving engineering environment.
What you’ll do
• Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS, including ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, and Route 53.
• Automate workflows and deployments using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab, and Chef.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation scripts (Python or other modern scripting languages).
• Configure and manage network security using NACLs, Security Groups, and VPNs.
• Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across systems, networking, and applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure platform stability and scalability.
• Participate in occasional out-of-hours support where required.
What you’ll bring
• Proven track record in DevOps or infrastructure automation roles.
• Deep experience with AWS cloud services and environment management.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language for automation.
• Strong command of Linux fundamentals and command-line operations.
• Experience with Docker containerisation and orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, GitLab, SaltStack, Nagios).
• Knowledge of API integrations, RESTful services, and WCF services.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, or Kerberos/IDM authentication.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to document and explain dependencies clearly.

• AWS certifications such as:
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional)
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
