Role and Overview of the role This position is supporting the Data platform at client Digital. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in DevOps. Top Skills: Minimum 5+ years of experience managing YAML-based continuous integration, continuous delivery systems / GitHub OR Jenkins Minimum 5+ years of experience with AWS (85%) & Azure (15%) but if the candidate has only AWS then that’s fine IAC (Infrastructure as Code) Additional Details: Any certification in Cloud OR DevOps will be a plus Open for cloud engineer but candidate should have good experience with the required skill sets Team is in Chicago IL Education and Experience Bachelors and/or Master’s degree with 5+ years of software development experience Typical task breakdown: • Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. • Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. • Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. • Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features • Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits • Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team • Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness • Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. • Worker is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Client management from time to time Interaction with team: - Team consists of 12 engineers and interacting with other developers within Client Digital as well. Work environment: 5 days in office at either Chicago or Dallas office. Technical Skills: (Required) - 5+ years of DevOps experience - 5+ years of AWS or Azure cloud experience - Experience managing YAML-based continuous integration, continuous delivery systems (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.). - Experience writing and deploying Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation templates and/or Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. (Desired) - Associate or Professional-level AWS and/or Azure certifications related to DevOps, Development, or Architecture. - Strong background working with revision control systems (Git, etc.). - Experience performing root cause analysis on CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with IDE Tools (VSCode, Eclipse, Intellij, etc.). - Great verbal and written communication skills to collaborate cross functionally and enhance scalability.
