Responsibilities
Kforce is seeking a local candidate in Salt Lake City, UT for a 5-year contract for a DevOps Engineer role. Responsibilities:
β’ Cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams while keeping existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test
β’ Project management, best practices and workflows
β’ Tools such as JIRA, GitHub, AWS DevOps
β’ Assist developers in troubleshooting: Applications; Migrations; Conversions; Deployments/publications; Additional skills beyond system administrator
β’ Security roles: Enforcing governance and best practices through security guardrails; Adhere to all State of Utah security definitions
β’ Evaluate logs
β’ Follow specific procedures and document for knowledge transfer
β’ Work in conjunction with like-minded departments and closely with developers and other DevOps personnel throughout the State of Utah to successfully deploy applications and ensure consistent and repeatable practices
β’ Collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code releases and cloud infrastructure
β’ Use leadership skills to team build and train others by being the example through showing self-motivation, professionalism and adaptability to change
β’ DevOps will require additional skills beyond system administrator
β’ Work with developers to understand workflows, identify resources, system requirements, create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to provision the resources, and create automated CI/CD pipelines, across all environments
β’ Work closely with Developers, Sys Admins, and Cloud Architects on best practices
β’ Provision resources in cloud environments
β’ Maintain and troubleshoot the health of applications and infrastructure
β’ Build and maintain consistent environments
β’ Manage the reliability of application infrastructure and environments, such as monitoring and identifying ways to make improvements
β’ Ensure consistent and accurate billing
Requirements
β’ Minimum of 5 years designing and maintaining technical infrastructure
β’ Experience with transitioning monolithic application to service oriented architectures
β’ Enterprise Java experience
20% - Cost 35% - Duration and Quality of experience as Technical Infrastructure 35% - Duration and Quality of experience transforming systems into Service Oriented Architecture 10% - Experience with an eligibility and enrollment system, or financial package such as collections system
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
