Genesis10 is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 12-month contract-to-hire position with our financial services client. The position will be located in Berkley Heights, NJ. Will work on a hybrid schedule. Compensation: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour (W-2). Description • Serve as a key expert on AWS Cloud-native development and operations. • Own and manage production infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins to streamline build, test, and deployment processes. • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, Shell) for infrastructure management and service orchestration. • Deploy and operate applications using AWS ECS, EKS, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. • Implement monitoring and observability using Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, QA, PMs) to enable smooth, automated release management. • Drive developer efficiency by building tools and self-service platforms that reduce manual work. • Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, infrastructure, networking, and database layers. • Mentor junior team members and share best practices across teams. Requirements • 5+ years of relevant DevOps/Build & Release Engineering experience. • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, IAM, VPC, Route53, WAF). • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and/or Shell scripting for automation. • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Maven) and Git branching strategies. • Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK). • Familiarity with databases (MySQL, RDS, DynamoDB) and web servers (Apache, NGINX). • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, load balancing, CDNs). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems. Preferred • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect). • Experience with Apigee API Management. • Prior experience in the payments or financial services industry. • Knowledge of performance testing and static code analysis integrations in CI/CD pipelines.
