Role description
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Irving, Texas. Duties: β€’ Design and execute performance tests to evaluate the system's responsiveness, stability, scalability, and resource usage β€’ Identify performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvements β€’ Analyze test results and generate detailed performance reports β€’ Conduct resiliency tests to ensure the system can handle failures and recover gracefully β€’ Implement and test failure scenarios to validate the system's fault tolerance β€’ Recommend and validate resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, bulkheads, and retries β€’ Set up and maintain performance monitoring tools to continuously track system performance β€’ Analyze performance metrics and logs to detect and diagnose performance issues in real-time β€’ Perform capacity planning to ensure the system can handle expected and peak loads β€’ Provide recommendations for scaling resources based on performance data and future growth projections β€’ Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize code, database queries, and infrastructure configurations β€’ Recommend best practices for performance tuning and optimization β€’ Recommend and configure performance parameters for Kubernetes clusters, such as resource limits, requests, and autoscaling policies β€’ Ensure optimal performance of containerized applications running in Kubernetes environments β€’ Recommend and implement resiliency patterns like circuit breakers, rate limiters, and fallback mechanisms to enhance system reliability β€’ Validate the effectiveness of these patterns through testing and monitoring β€’ Document performance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices β€’ Provide training and support to development and operations teams on performance and resiliency best practices β€’ Evaluate and improve performance testing and monitoring processes β€’ Stay updated with the latest performance engineering tools, techniques, and industry trends Desired Skills/Experience: β€’ Experience with containerization technologies like Docker β€’ String scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python β€’ Effective problem-solving and analytical skills β€’ Must be familiar with observability and APM tools like Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics etc. β€’ Good understanding of architecture patterns and resiliency β€’ Programing experience in Java and Spring boot β€’ Strong microservices application support experience β€’ Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices β€’ Experience with Cloud is required Benefits: β€’ Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance Plans β€’ Employee-Owned Profit Sharing (ESOP) β€’ 401K offered The approximate pay range for this position is between $37.00 and $53.00.
