Role: DevOps Engineer Contract: 12+ months with the possibility of extension Location: Alpharetta, GA or Oakland, CA Notes From Manager: Candidates must be local to Alpharetta, GA or Oakland, CA. Position is hybrid requirement is to work at least 1 day a week onsite. Job Description β€’ Performs as an individual contributor of middleware team that builds and supports exceptional customer-facing applications with challenging business use cases, existing systems, and operational problems. β€’ Experience working on various middleware application servers and containers from monolithic to modern versions. β€’ Apply middleware infrastructure automation code with utmost attention to scalability, security, and performance and with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning capacity specifications, quality, release deployments, and monitoring of production health. β€’ The candidate must also have some Shell/Perl/Python scripting language experience and be able to use this to implement changes in pipelines. β€’ Maintains technical documentation on any implementations, README files up-to-date, and status pages of the projects along with Release team handover. β€’ Collaborates closely with Engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, Test Automation, and other teams to define, prioritize, sequence, and scope middleware around business and functional areas. β€’ Accurately scopes effort identifies risks and clearly communicates trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders. β€’ Instruments infrastructure and application performance monitoring, capacity management, alerting, tools instrumentation, and metrics (KPI) management. β€’ Perform impact assessment of the product (hardware, software) upgrades, patching, migration, and hotfixes. β€’ Assists in planning, coordinating, and executing projects across various environments (Regression, Performance, Production, and Post-production). β€’ Supports and collaborates with other Engineers through evaluation, design analysis, and development phases. β€’ Familiarity with common issues that causes builds/deployments to fail such as out of memory, disk full, missing libraries or security certificates, etc. β€’ Proven track record of handling & troubleshooting various critical Production and nonproduction applications end to end & infrastructure technical issues, providing comprehensive root cause. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer with strong experience in modern middleware environments to support WebLogic 12c+ (or JBoss EAP) deployments in cloud and containerized infrastructures. This is not a legacy admin role we are looking for someone who can automate, optimize, and modernize our platform. Required Skills β€’ 8+ years hands-on DevOps experience with middleware platforms. β€’ Experience with WebLogic 12c+ (preferred) and/or JBoss EAP in production environments. β€’ Strong scripting skills (Shell must have; Python/Perl nice to have). β€’ Pipeline coding experience (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.) required. β€’ Familiarity with IaC (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible/Chef/Puppet). β€’ Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and ideally Kubernetes operators for WebLogic. β€’ Azure cloud experience is a plus. β€’ Focus is on automation, IaC, and modernization rather than just maintaining legacy WebLogic environments. Interviews: 1st) One hour technical interview with camera on and screen sharing. 2nd) 30-minute in-person interview in Alpharetta or Oakland.
