DevOps Engineer

BridgeView is seeking a DevOps Engineer for one of our clients on a contract engagement. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll architect and build secure, scalable solutions that empower our teams. Partner with the DevOps Engineering Manager and a team of 5-10 engineers, but have influence across enterprise development, operations, and security teams. This isn't just about technical skill; it’s about driving a culture of continuous improvement, automation, reliability, and observability. Responsibilities • Architect and Innovate: Design and deploy robust cloud and on-prem environments using IaC and container orchestration. • Accelerate with Automation: Drive our CI/CD strategy forward by optimizing and implementing secure, scalable pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins. Automate workflows to ensure stable, efficient deployments and rapid innovation. • Champion Reliability: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues across our infrastructure, networks, and applications. Ensure our systems are not just operational, but are performant, secure, and reliable. • Influence and Mentor: Serve as a mentor and guide for other engineers, sharing expertise and shaping our DevOps culture. Implement guidelines and contribute to ongoing learning and teamwork throughout the organization. Required Experience We’re looking for someone who grows with a challenge and embraces a dynamic environment. • Be a Problem Solver: Adaptability and willingness to dig into new challenges. Comfortable working independently but know when to ask for help. • Deep Cloud and Data Expertise: Have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and be a pro with Terraform. Experience with data platforms like Databricks and Apache AirFlow. • Automation Skills: Experienced with configuration management tools like Ansible and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana. Have built custom tools using Python or C#. • Version Control: Have a strong background in version control administration, especially with GitHub or Perforce. Preferred Experience • Proficiency in database administration and enhancing performance. • Experience in boosting cloud cost efficiency and security. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira.
