DevOps Engineer (AWS & PostgreSQL) – Full Remote Company: Loxala Global Inc. Location: Remote Type: Contract / Freelance (Long-Term) Start Date: Immediate Compensation: Based on experience About the Role: Loxala is a growing global freelancer marketplace with ambitious plans to scale to over 1 million users. We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead and manage our infrastructure across AWS, PostgreSQL, and FastAPI. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.) Set up and maintain PostgreSQL databases with security, backups, indexing, and scaling in mind Manage deployment pipelines for FastAPI services (CI/CD, GitHub Actions or alternatives) Create secure environments for staging and production Set up monitoring, logging, and alerts for server and DB health (CloudWatch, Grafana, etc.) Handle load balancing, autoscaling, and resource optimization as usage grows Set up country-based restrictions, IP tracking, and data compliance configurations Maintain data security, encryption, and access control policies Work alongside frontend developers to ensure smooth API integration and performance Document the infrastructure and deployment workflows Requirements: Proven experience managing AWS environments for scalable web apps Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL: replication, tuning, indexing, partitioning Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) Familiar with Python backends (especially FastAPI) Solid understanding of Linux-based systems Experience with security best practices (IAM, firewalls, secure credentials, etc.)
