Outstanding contract opportunity! A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer in Charlotte, NC (hybrid 3 days on-site).
We are seeking a skilled GCP DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes (GKE), Docker Swarm, and Linux administration. You will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring automation, scalability, and reliability for mission-critical services.
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Proven experience with GCP, GKE (Kubernetes), Docker Swarm, and Linux administration.
β’ Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
β’ Solid understanding of container orchestration, networking, and security.
Desired Skills
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
β’ Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
β’ Scripting and automation with Python and REST APIs.
β’ Experience with OpenShift (OCS).
β’ Administration experience with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch databases.
β’ Advanced skills with Terraform and Ansible for IaC.
β’ Experience in Python development and RESTful API integration.
β’ Database administration background for PostgreSQL and Elastic environments.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
What You Will Be Doing
β’ Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using GCP, GKE (Kubernetes), and Docker Swarm.
β’ Configure, secure, and maintain Linux-based systems and servers across multiple environments.
β’ Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools for automated builds, testing, and deployment.
β’ Design and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, preferably using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
β’ Develop, maintain, and integrate Python scripts and REST APIs for automation and system interaction.
β’ Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
β’ Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of databases such as PostgreSQL and Elastic.
β’ Document infrastructure processes, architecture, and best practices.
