Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer (Cloud-Native Applications) Location : DMV area, NY, NJ Metro Target Start Date : ASAP Type: contract Pay Rate: DOE Overview We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who can design, develop, deploy, and support modern cloud-native applications from the ground up. This role is ideal for a hands-on software engineer who enjoys building scalable applications, developing APIs and user interfaces, and owning the full software lifecycle through deployment in AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go, combined with expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices. This is not a traditional DevOps-only position—we are looking for engineers who have built and delivered production applications while also understanding how those applications are deployed, monitored, and maintained. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using modern frontend and backend technologies. • Build cloud-native applications and microservices deployed within AWS environments. • Develop responsive user interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks. • Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services using Python or Go. • Create scalable solutions leveraging containerization and Kubernetes-based platforms. • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams throughout the SDLC. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, and deployment. • Participate in application architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions. • Build observability, monitoring, and operational tooling into applications. • Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, and deployment issues across development and production environments. • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality. Required Qualifications Full Stack Development • 5 years of professional software engineering experience. • Experience building and deploying applications from scratch through production. • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript development experience. • Experience building modern web applications and user interfaces. • Backend development experience using Python and/or Go. • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems architecture. Cloud & Platform Engineering • Hands-on AWS experience building and deploying production applications. • Experience with Kubernetes, including Amazon EKS. • Experience with Docker and containerized application development. • Familiarity with cloud-native design patterns and scalable application architectures. • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation. DevOps & Automation • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions. • Source control expertise using Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, or GitHub. • Experience automating build, test, deployment, and operational workflows. • Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills. • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools. Software Engineering Fundamentals • Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working in Agile development environments. • Understanding of software design patterns, testing strategies, and secure coding practices. • Ability to contribute across the entire software development lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications • Experience developing AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, or AI-powered developer tools. • Exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) services and integrations. • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering tools. • Experience with platform engineering concepts and developer productivity initiatives. • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools such as Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx, or similar solutions. • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or CloudWatch. • Experience building internal APIs, automation services, or developer tooling. • Knowledge of performance testing, scalability, and application optimization. What Success Looks Like • Can independently build and deploy applications from concept through production. • Comfortable working across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines. • Strong coding background with the ability to contribute immediately to application development efforts. • Able to balance software engineering best practices with operational excellence. • Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a product-focused engineering mindset.
