Role description
Digital Engineer Industrial Data Integration (MQTT/UNS) Capgemini | 100% Remote (Pacific Time) Role Summary Capgemini is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of industrial data integration solutions (HighByte Intelligence Hub, MQTT, Unified Namespace) within regulated manufacturing environments. You will own end-to-end integration testing, platform configuration, and deployment validation across development, pre-production, and production environments. This role requires deep hands-on technical expertise in industrial data architectures and the ability to operate autonomously in GxP-regulated settings. Key Facts Compensation $50-60/hour, 1099 contractor. Candidate responsible for all payroll taxes and benefits. Location & Hours 100% remote, US-based. Must be available during Pacific Time (Los Angeles) business hours. Work Model 1099 contractor (no W2 benefits, PTO, or health insurance provided). Background Requirement Mandatory meet-and-greet call to confirm technical fit. What You Will Do HighByte Configuration & Support Own setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of HighByte Intelligence Hub solutions. Manage data models, pipelines, and integrations within Unified Namespace architectures. Drive proof-of-concepts and sandbox activities leading into production deployments. Integration Testing & Deployment Lead integration testing strategies across manufacturing and enterprise systems. Own validation activities across DEV, PPD, and PRD environments. Execute root cause analysis and troubleshooting during integration cycles. Coordinate deployment planning and ensure sign-off before production release. Manufacturing Systems Integration Architect data flows from manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, PLC, ERP, IoT, cloud platforms) into the Unified Namespace. Collaborate with OT and IT teams to design secure, reliable data connectivity. Support industrial data architecture and digital manufacturing initiatives. Regulated Environment Compliance Execute validation protocols, manage change control documentation, and maintain audit trail requirements in GxP-regulated manufacturing environments. Support quality and compliance reviews. Ensure solutions meet cybersecurity and data integrity standards. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with Tarzana site engineering teams, manufacturing operations, and Capgemini architects. Participate in design reviews, provide technical guidance during implementation, and lead troubleshooting sessions. Must Have (Non-Negotiable) MQTT & Industrial Data Integration (Primary Technical Bar) Hands-on, production-level experience with MQTT (publish-subscribe) or equivalent industrial messaging platforms. Strong understanding of Unified Namespace architecture and event-driven data flow patterns. 2+ years working directly with industrial data integration in manufacturing or similar regulated environments. HighByte Intelligence Hub (Strong Plus) Direct hands-on experience with HighByte setup, configuration, and troubleshooting is highly valued. If you lack HighByte experience but are fluent in MQTT, Unified Namespace concepts, and industrial data platforms, you may still be a strong fit. 5-10 Years Technical Experience Proven track record in systems integration, manufacturing IT/OT, or industrial digital transformation. Senior-level autonomy: you own technical decisions, troubleshoot independently, and require minimal escalation. GxP & Regulated Manufacturing Environments Hands-on familiarity with validation processes, change control, audit trails, and documentation in regulated manufacturing (pharma, medical device, food, or similar GxP settings). Integration Testing & Deployment Demonstrated experience executing integration test strategies, managing validation across environments, and supporting production releases. Comfort troubleshooting complex multi-system integrations. US-Based, PST Availability Must be located in the US and available during Pacific Time business hours to collaborate with the Tarzana client team. No relocation required; fully remote. Nice to Have Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud); data historian knowledge (PI System, Canary); ISA-95 and ISA-88 manufacturing standards; industrial cybersecurity principles; Smart Manufacturing or Manufacturing 4.0 program background; Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device industry exposure. Why This Role You will work on cutting-edge industrial data integration technology in a high-stakes regulated manufacturing environment. This is not plant-floor operations; it is data architecture and systems integration at the enterprise level. You will report to Capgemini leadership, collaborate with a site engineering team that respects technical expertise, and own meaningful decisions around platform configuration, integration strategy, and deployment validation. Full remote work with timezone flexibility (must overlap PST). Expectations You are self-directed and require minimal hand-holding. You have shipped complex integrations under time pressure. You document decisions, manage compliance requirements without prompting, and communicate proactively with non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable learning HighByte on the job if you come in strong on MQTT and data integration fundamentals. Next Steps If you match the must-haves and are interested, expect a 30-minute technical screening call followed by a meet-and-greet with the client team in Tarzana. Total time-to-offer if approved: 2-3 weeks.
