This role actively partners with inclusive cross-functional teams throughout the digital product lifecycle to ensure usability and accessibility are integrated, balancing human needs and mitigating risk. Responsibilities: • Provide expert accessibility and usability feedback in design, UX/UI development, and testing. • Engage in quality audits and assist with remediation roadmaps. • Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility, staying ahead of trends in disability advocacy, universal design, and web standards. • Collaborate with designers to ensure accessibility is integrated into product designs before development. • Assist developers in addressing accessibility challenges by delivering specifications and functional prototypes. • Work with product teams to conduct manual and automated reviews, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions. • Facilitate collaboration and transparency across disciplines. • Develop training and educational materials on accessibility. • Evaluate third-party tools and assist in implementing new tools. • Mentor and train Accessibility Analysts in best practices, systems, and processes. • Provide guidance and direction for the overall accessibility program. • Collaborate with user researchers and represent users internally. • Prioritize and define approaches to understand user stories, guiding others in doing so. • Peer-review annotations and recommendations from other analysts. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of experience performing accessibility testing; or High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in accessibility testing. • Ability to collaborate productively both independently and with diverse teams. • Proficiency in hand-coding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including inspecting code, analyzing violations, remediating rendered code, and retesting. • Ability to recommend technical solutions for various technology stacks, such as mobile, React, single-page applications, .NET, etc. • Experience mentoring others in methods and techniques for addressing accessibility barriers on web applications and mobile devices. • Advanced soft skills and mastery of working with teams with varied levels of understanding of inclusive design or accessibility. • Empathy for customers and the ability to understand their perspectives. • Confidence using a range of assistive technologies, including JAWS, NVDA, iOS VoiceOver, Android Talkback, etc. • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. • Experience working in an agile environment. • In-depth understanding of ADA standards, including edge cases.
