Digitalization Engineer (MES & IT/OT)
Location: Houston, TX (Day 1 Onsite)
Skills Required:
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Automation Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• Have experience as an Automation Engineer, Database Developer, Database Architect, or similar role
• Have familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C# (preferred)
• Understand database security, backup, and recovery strategies
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Possess strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Have a basic understanding of digitization and a strong affinity for OT/IT, along with experience in low-code programming
• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and a goal- and results-oriented work style, with experience in database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL/data modeling preferred
As a Automation/Digitalization Engineer, you create chemistry by:
• Acting as the local contact for automation and digitization (A&D), overseeing the control, execution, and coordination of area-specific projects in collaboration with the EVR digitization team
• Serving as the interface to specialist departments, initiating and shaping new automation and digitization projects and initiatives
• Collaborating with application developers to integrate database solutions into software applications such as MES, ensuring seamless data flow and access
• Monitoring and optimizing database performance, troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues, and conducting regular health checks and performance tuning
• Ensuring data security and integrity by implementing and maintaining appropriate access controls and backup strategies
• Analyzing and modeling data requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications and database structures
• Managing and configuring digital application use cases, including creating customized dashboards and reports
• Coordinating external service providers and supporting the digital roadmap and implementation of projects
