Role description
We recently got a new opportunity for a Director of Global Analytics with one of our clients.
Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Global Analytics to lead its data analytics and reporting efforts.
Location: The company has its headquarters in central Massachusetts and offices in the US, the UK, China and Brazil.
Industry: Manufacturing
An ideal resource would be in the northeast, and it would be able to travel to the headquarters and other sites as needed. Hybrid role with much of work performed remotely.
Start: within the next 2-3 weeks.
Duration: 3-4 months, potential for contract to hire.
This is a leadership role with hands-on capabilities.
They are looking for a business person to work closely with business units to identify data analytics/reporting needs and then work with technical teams to identify, extract, transform and load data into the data lake. The role will need to:
β’ Develop and implement the data analytics strategy in alignment with the companyβs goals and objectives.
β’ Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts and users across the companyβs strategic functions.
β’ Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation throughout the organization.
β’ Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize business problems and opportunities where data analytics can add measurable value.
β’ Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of data from various internal and external sources.
β’ Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy through strong data governance practices.
β’ Integrate data from different sources to produce comprehensive datasets for analysis, including publicly available external data.
β’ Develop and maintain data documentation, metadata, and data dictionaries.
β’ Use advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive analytics to discover insights and trends.
β’ Create and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
β’ Analyze complex datasets to find patterns, correlations, and anomalies that support business decisions.
β’ Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of data initiatives.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, finance, and operations, to understand their data needs and offer analytical support.
β’ Explain complex analytical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders clearly and straightforwardly.
β’ Build strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to keep up with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics.
β’ Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and industry standards.
β’ Implement and enforce data security protocols to protect sensitive information.
β’ Monitor and respond promptly to data breaches or security incidents.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
β’ Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
β’ Proven track record of successfully leading data analytics teams and projects.
β’ Strong proficiency in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
β’ Experience with data platforms (Oracle, SQL Server) and cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
