Role description
Our client is seeking a Director of Data Architecture and Analytics in Colorado Springs, CO for an exciting contract to hire scenario. This role leads the data analytics and warehousing department, overseeing all activities and ensuring alignment with the business’s vision and objectives. The Director of Data Architecture and Analytics aligns and directs the management, development, and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary for supporting the mission, vision strategies, objectives, and business goals. Directs and leads projects and initiatives to design and improve business processes to ensure the maximum effectiveness, emphasizing processes related to new or improved data analysis. Mines and analyzes complex data sets using advanced methods for use in data-driven decision-making. Confers with the Chief Information Technology Officer and other members of IT leadership to develop enterprise solution strategies.
DUTIES:
• Manage the build-out of a next-generation data hub, analytical system, and integrations.
• Creates, manages, and supports data governance and standards.
• Provides management visibility into data-driven insights that inform the business’s strategic direction and KPIs.
• Collaborates with other leaders to deliver high-quality project deliverables.
• Performs research, analysis, and modeling of organization data leveraging artificial intelligence methods to identify opportunities to improve operations or answer business-related questions.
• Oversees data analysis and reporting efforts for the organization around DEI, learning experiences, student impact, and fundraising.
• Drive organizational and behavioral changes to improve data maturity.
• Communicate and drive the collections roadmap with the ability to balance customer needs and technical priorities.
• Gathers business requirements from users to ensure data analysis solutions meet project requirements.
• Negotiates and approves contracts with software partners and external partners.
• Manage strategic relationships between internal IT resources, distinct business units, end users, vendors, and partner organizations.
• Manages staff on the data analytics team.
• Ensuring all data projects comply with best practices, governance, and data policies.
• Promotes the organization’s vision, mission, and opportunities with internal and external contributors.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 4+ years of experience in managing data analytics big data, including data warehouses and data lakes and integrations.
• 4+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience developing a data analytics strategy (including semantic models)
• Experience running complex data and analytical projects.
• Experience creating or establishing a data hub (or extensive working experience in a data hub environment) for strategically driving data analytical needs.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis and modeling.
• Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering Organizations KPIs.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise data warehouse solutions, data analysis, database systems, and data visualization applications.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and proficiency in working with BI tools like Power BI.
• Proven background and experience in the design of data analysis systems and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and process analysis skills.
• Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
