Job title: Director of Data Engineering Location: 4300 Wildwood Parkway, Suite 200, Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, 30339 Salary: $180K/Year Summary β€’ Client is looking for a talented and experienced Director Data Engineering to work in our Enterprise Information Management organization. This individual will specifically be leading a team delivering and expanding highly performant and scalable data products and platforms to drive consumption of data from our enterprise data ecosystem, while driving data engineering best practices. The candidate will also be responsible for designing new solutions to ensure that client is able to increasingly innovate with its data assets. β€’ We’re seeking an experienced leader who wants to help us modernize our technology stack utilizing cloud technology, implement Agile and DevOps practices and build solid foundations in this space. This role will work closely with our analytics, systems engineering, product, and security teams. This leader must have the ability to attract and recruit data engineering talent, and simultaneously have the technical know-how to ensure that we build compelling, customer-oriented solutions in an iterative fashion. In this role, you will β€’ Own and drive the end-to-end data engineering efforts delivering high quality, scalable innovative solutions that meet the business goals, and design and deliver an enterprise data catalog to improve visibility and accessibility of client information β€’ Make strategic decisions across technology, architecture, and people to enable and build the next gen data platform with modernized data management, governance, and analytics capabilities β€’ Lead efforts to deploy new applications into AWS environments while migrating our existing data platforms and capabilities to the cloud β€’ Implement and champion agile and CI/CD frameworks within the data engineering team to accelerate throughput and improve customer outcomes β€’ Collaborate with business teams to ensure completeness and common understanding of product vision, roadmap, and requirements. β€’ Partner with management, architects, product owners, data professionals, and software and data engineers to drive the implementation of new applications, and collaborate with internal teams to find areas of opportunity for automation and machine learning β€’ Lead, manage, and grow a high performing team of product focused data engineers β€’ Build data quality and observability capabilities using modern technologies to understand data usage, patterns, and improve data quality/reliability What you bring to client β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering and/or commensurate years of real-world experience in software engineering; 10+ years of experience in software engineering; 5+ years of experience in data warehousing; 5+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams; 3+ years of experience implementing cloud platforms in large organizations (AWS Preferred); 1+ year(s) of experience implementing Agile, DevOps and CI/CD frameworks.
