Title: Director of Data Science – Sourcing & Supply Chain Location: New York (Hybrid Preferred) Salary: $250,000 – $300,000 USD + Competitive Contract-to-Hire Structure Contact: Jessica.Dobie@forsythbarnes.com Overview: Forsyth Barnes are partnered with a globally recognised retail organisation currently undergoing a large-scale AI and data transformation across sourcing, supply chain, merchandising, and digital product creation. We are searching for a senior-level Director of Data Science to operate at the intersection of business strategy, stakeholder engagement, and technical delivery. This individual will play a key role in scaling AI-enabled product creation and predictive modelling capabilities across the organisation while partnering closely with senior leadership and distributed technical teams. This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced data and AI leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, influencing enterprise transformation programmes, and building scalable data-driven solutions within a fast-moving environment. Key Requirements: • Senior Manager / Director-level experience within Data Science, AI, Analytics, or Data Product environments • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication capability • Experience operating within enterprise-scale transformation programmes • Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive modelling, AI / LLM use cases, and modern data ecosystems • Experience coordinating distributed or offshore technical delivery teams • Commercially minded with the ability to translate business challenges into scalable AI and data solutions • Experience partnering closely with both technical and non-technical business stakeholders • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, evolving transformation environments Preferred Experience: • Retail, apparel, consumer goods, manufacturing, or supply chain industry experience • Exposure to sourcing, supply chain analytics, or product creation technology • Experience supporting AI transformation initiatives • Understanding of GCP or modern cloud data platforms • Exposure to AI-enabled product creation, attribute extraction, or predictive manufacturing models • Experience building or scaling globally distributed teams
