Position Overview
We're seeking a strategic Director of Growth Marketing to architect and execute our customer acquisition strategy across all paid channels. This role owns the performance marketing function, driving toward our revenue goal for 2026 while maintaining efficiency targets
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in eCommerce growth marketing, combining strategic vision with hands-on execution. You'll lead our paid media strategy across Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and programmatic channels while optimizing for key metrics including AOV increases, subscription growth (currently 30% of revenue), and ROAS improvements.
This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the President, with the opportunity to build and scale the performance marketing function as we grow.
What You'll Do
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and own the comprehensive paid media strategy across all channels (Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, programmatic) to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth
Balance performance marketing with strategic brand building to maximize both short-term conversion and long-term brand equity
Create quarterly growth plans aligned with company revenue goals, utilizing data-driven forecasting and scenario modeling
Identify and test new acquisition channels and strategies, prioritizing based on ROI potential and strategic fit
Channel Management & Optimization
Manage day-to-day performance of paid social, paid search, programmatic, and emerging channels to hit monthly revenue and efficiency targets
Optimize campaigns for multiple objectives: new customer acquisition, AOV growth, subscription conversion, and customer lifetime value
Implement sophisticated testing frameworks (creative, audience, offer, landing page) to continuously improve performance
Own the relationship with external agency partners, ensuring alignment on strategy, execution, and results
Creative Strategy & Direction
Partner with creative team to develop performance-driven creative briefs based on customer insights, competitive analysis, and conversion data
Provide strategic direction on video ad scripts, static creative, and ad copy that balances benefit-focused messaging with direct response principles
Apply proven frameworks (Hook-Story-Offer, Problem-Solution-Proof) to creative development
Test and iterate on creative angles, formats, and messaging to identify winning combinations across channels
Subscription & AOV Growth
Develop strategies to increase subscription penetration beyond current baseline through offer optimization, funnel improvements, and retention marketing
Implement AOV growth tactics including product bundling, upsells, and cart optimization
Build and optimize automated customer journey flows (cart abandonment, browse abandonment, post-purchase) to maximize conversion and retention
Analytics & Reporting
Own performance marketing KPIs including ROAS, CAC, LTV:CAC ratio, conversion rates, and contribution margin
Build comprehensive reporting dashboards that provide visibility into channel performance, customer cohorts, and attribution
Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and inform strategic decisions
Translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling narratives for leadership
We're Looking For Someone With
Required Experience
7-10+ years of digital marketing experience in DTC eCommerce, preferably in health/wellness, supplements, or premium consumer goods
Proven track record managing paid media budgets of $500K-$1M+ annually with demonstrated ROAS improvements
Deep expertise across paid social (Meta, TikTok), paid search (Google, Bing), and YouTube advertising
Experience driving subscription growth and AOV optimization in eCommerce businesses
Track record of scaling brands from early stage ($1-5M) to significant revenue growth
Technical Skills
Expert-level knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and analytics platforms
Strong proficiency in data analysis and tools like Google Analytics, spreadsheet modeling, and visualization platforms
Experience with eCommerce platforms (Shopify preferred) and email/SMS marketing tools (Klaviyo a plus)
Understanding of attribution modeling, customer segmentation, and cohort analysis
Strategic Capabilities
Ability to think strategically while executing tacticallyβcomfortable with both high-level planning and campaign-level optimization
Experience providing creative strategy and direction to internal teams or agencies (not creating assets yourself, but knowing what works)
Strong understanding of customer psychology, conversion optimization, and direct response marketing principles
Familiarity with frameworks like Value Equation, Grand Slam Offers, or similar performance marketing methodologies is a major plus
