Role description
Director‑Level Solutions & Engineering Strategist (Travel & Hospitality)
Washington, DC metro (Hybrid) — 3 days/week onsite
Remote candidates: 40–50% travel initially
We’re looking for a senior technologist with deep Travel & Hospitality experience and a hands‑on engineering background. This role shapes modern hospitality platforms across booking, operations, loyalty, payments, and data — and requires someone who can architect, build, and guide delivery teams.
What You’ll Do
• Lead solution strategy across hotel and airline platforms (PMS, CRS, RMS, CRM/CDP, CMS, payments, data).
• Architect API‑first and event‑driven systems that power booking, loyalty, and guest experience.
• Provide hands‑on engineering leadership across cloud, data, and application workstreams.
• Build reference architectures, integration patterns, and reusable accelerators.
• Support presales, solution storytelling, and executive‑level conversations.
• Partner with delivery teams to ensure designs translate into measurable outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
Hospitality Expertise
• 10–15 years in Travel & Hospitality
• 7+ years with enterprise hospitality platforms (PMS/CRS/RMS/CRM/CDP/CMS/payments/data)
Engineering & Architecture Depth
• API‑first integration design
• Event‑driven and streaming architectures
• Modern data platforms (lakehouse, real‑time, streaming)
• Ability to move between conceptual architecture and hands‑on build
Technical Requirements
• Experience with at least 3: Kafka, MongoDB, Couchbase, Spark, AWS (EKS/EC2/S3)
• Proficiency in at least 2: Java, Node.js, Scala, Python
• GenAI application development experience (mandatory)
Bonus Strengths
• Experience with booking engines, payments, OTA/GDS distribution, loyalty modernization
• Strong executive communication and GTM/presales experience
