Opportunity Snapshot: β€’ Compensation: $72.00/hour β€’ Location: Denver, CO β€’ Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+ β€’ Duration: 12 months + β€’ Benefits: Comprehensive benefits with 401(k), PTO and Holidays Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or related field β€’ 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role β€’ 2+ years writing complex SQL queries in production environments, including creating new queries from scratch and optimizing existing ones β€’ 2+ years hands-on experience building and managing Power BI and/or Spotfire dashboards. Experience supporting operations, engineering, or field teams in a data-intensive environment β€’ Drilling & Completions knowledge and/or upstream oil & gas experience strongly preferred β€’ Experience with OpenWells or similar well data management systems (Landmark, PPDM-based applications) β€’ Knowledge of oil & gas operational metrics including well-level data (API numbers, pads, formations, lateral lengths), drilling metrics (spud dates, drill days, directional surveys), and completion metrics (stages, proppant, pump schedules, frac timelines) β€’ Programming skills in Python or R for advanced analytics and automation β€’ Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) for workflow automation β€’ Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS). Responsibilities: β€’ Directly support Drilling & Completions teams driving upstream operations in the Rockies region β€’ Work with cutting-edge data systems supporting major oil & gas operations β€’ Contribute to high-impact business decisions affecting well delivery and capital efficiency β€’ Drive automation and innovation that improves operational efficiency β€’ Gain exposure to enterprise-scale data environments and cross-functional collaboration β€’ Extract, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to derive insights that drive strategic business decisions. Develop and maintain SQL queries against enterprise data systems to support D&C reporting and analysis β€’ Perform detailed analysis of drilling and completions performance, timelines, costs, and operational KPIs. Translate technical findings into actionable business insights and recommendations β€’ Build, enhance, and manage Power BI and/or Spotfire dashboards for D&C and Operations teams. Create insightful visualizations that communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders β€’ Maintain dashboard integrity by troubleshooting issues, reconnecting data sources, and optimizing refresh performance. Ensure reporting solutions align with enterprise BI standards β€’ Utilize automation tools to streamline data analysis and business processes. Identify manual, repetitive processes and implement automated solutions β€’ Develop reusable SQL templates, stored procedures, and data pipelines for recurring analysis. Continuously identify optimization opportunities in data workflows and reporting β€’ Work closely with D&C engineers, operations leads, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide analytical support. Collaborate effectively with data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams. Respond swiftly to ad-hoc data requests while maintaining quality standards. Document data lineage, business logic, and reporting methodologies β€’ Develop data validation queries and perform continuous QC across source systems. Monitor data freshness and proactively flag anomalies.
