Role description
Role: EHS Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid in Bayport, MN (3 days on-site)
Duration: 6 months to start
Rate: $40.09-$57.27/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications
PURPOSE:
Application administration is the linchpin between application venders and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) business unit. To provide application and architecture oversight for EHS applications, this includes managing cross functional release coordination to mitigate risk. The team’s objectives are user account management, application security, standardization, data integrity, cross functional coordination, communication, monitoring, understanding of all components that make up a service and to provide practical coverage of all critical applications to meet business objectives. Application Administration focuses on implementation of configuration changes into various application environments. Ensure all components are promoted into application environments in a consistent manner and ensure they function properly. Collaboration and communication are essential to avoid interruptions of service or delays in recovery. Coordination and leadership capabilities are required to manage the migration of data into an application environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform application upgrades and patching
• Manage deployments, configuration, scheduling and monitoring of various development, test and production environments
• Technical application support; troubleshooting, scripting, consulting
• Ability to work well with customers that have varying degree of technical skills
• Communication of Application service interruptions
• Provide input for architectural direction including security, high availability, licensing and monitoring.
• Coordinate testing and release activities
• Responsible for standards and configuration of the application
• Manages health of applications and maintain security and integrity controls
• Knowledgeable in best practices of performance and security of applications.
• Working with Vendors for technical support
• Manage and maintain monitoring and alerting capabilities
• Coordinate with and give support to other administrators as needed
• Train internal users to use client software, as well as creating training materials
• Write and maintain documentation for standard procedures and support requirements
• Frequently interacts with and coordinates activities of software and hardware vendors with respect to troubleshooting and tuning activities
• Support and leverage continuous improvement processes and efforts.
• Maintain and manage contractual licensing agreements.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties as assigned by manager.
• Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics or similar discipline, 3+ years experience in technical support capacity.
• Extensive experience with installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting of various apps.
• EHS-specific app experience a plus
• Database experience
• Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional setting and within a matrixed organization.
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong aptitude in process improvement
• Results orientated
• Strong end-user experience empathy in design
• Ability to work in an Agile release management environment.
• Ability to learn and implement new technologies and processes.
