The position requires addressing unique challenges with innovative solutions, advanced analytical thinking, and strategic engagement with senior leadership. The role focuses on managing and maintaining MongoDB clusters, ensuring database performance, security, and compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives. Responsibilities: β€’ Manage and maintain MongoDB clusters, including replica sets and sharded environments. β€’ Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using MongoDB replication, backup strategies, and cloud-native tools. β€’ Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. β€’ Analyze slow queries and implement indexing strategies to improve application performance. β€’ Automate database maintenance tasks using JavaScript, Shell scripting, and tools like Ansible or Terraform. β€’ Develop and maintain scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and alerting. β€’ Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness (SOX, PCI, HIPAA). β€’ Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and auditing features. β€’ Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business initiatives. β€’ Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for database-related incidents and implement long-term solutions. β€’ Manage backup and recovery strategies using MongoDB Ops Manager, cloud-native backups, or enterprise tools. β€’ Monitor database health using tools like MongoDB Atlas, Prometheus, Grafana, or custom dashboards. β€’ Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans. Qualifications: β€’ 7+ years of MongoDB Database Administration experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education. β€’ Expertise in MongoDB architecture, replication, sharding, and performance tuning. β€’ Strong proficiency in MongoDB query language, aggregation framework, and indexing strategies. β€’ Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting. β€’ Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins. β€’ Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and storage integration. β€’ Experience with monitoring tools: MongoDB Atlas, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar. β€’ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. β€’ Excellent communication and documentation abilities. β€’ Proven leadership in incident management and change control processes.
