Engineering Lead – Banking Platform & Cloud Modernization Type: W2 Contract Location: Long Beach, CA (Hybrid) Work Authorization: U.S. candidates only — No sponsorship available Hourly Rate: $95 - $125/Hr. Seeking a hands‑on Engineering Lead to stabilize and support an existing on‑prem Microsoft platform while driving cloud modernization on Azure. This role requires strong technical depth, leadership, and operational discipline within a regulated environment. Ideal for someone passionate about GenAI, enterprise modernization, and making an immediate impact. Responsibilities • Stabilize and support an existing on‑prem Microsoft platform while leading cloud‑modernization efforts on Azure. • Architect and develop full‑stack solutions using .NET, React/Next.js, and Azure. • Drive technical decision‑making and modern engineering best practices. • Conduct code reviews and ensure high standards for security, performance, and maintainability. • Collaborate with product, design, security, and operations teams to deliver new capabilities. • Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence. • Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and ongoing production improvements. • Optimize performance across APIs, databases, and front‑end rendering. • Implement strong security practices across identity, secrets, and data protection. • Partner with DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. • Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to cloud transformation in regulated environments. Qualifications • Strong background with Microsoft on‑prem environments, including .NET/C#, SQL Server, Windows Server/IIS, Active Directory, monitoring/logging, and production‑first engineering practices. • Proven experience designing and delivering solutions on Azure (App Service, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, networking basics, hybrid connectivity, Entra ID, RBAC, resiliency patterns). • Hands‑on DevOps experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform). • Familiarity with modern engineering patterns such as cloud‑ready API design, event‑driven architectures, observability, and data modernization. • Experience working with enterprise customers undergoing cloud modernization and comfort operating in regulated environments. • Passion for GenAI and modern engineering approaches. • Experience in banking or other regulated industries. • Front‑end and back‑end modern stack experience (React + TypeScript, Node.js/Express, PostgreSQL).
