Engineering Lead

Candidates must be comfortable being onsite in Malven, Pa 3-4x/week The team is looking for a senior-level React Native engineering lead with deep experience building and optimizing cross-platform mobile applications using TypeScript, including native module integration and platform-specific configurations. This person should be able to own delivery end-to-end, lead technical direction, and mentor engineers while collaborating closely in a hybrid, fast-paced environment. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Experience Engineering Lead with deep expertise in React Native to drive the development and evolution of cross-platform mobile applications. This role will play a key leadership position in architecting, scaling, and optimizing mobile experiences while partnering closely with native iOS and Android teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical ownership, performance-focused thinking, and the ability to lead teams through complex, large-scale mobile initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Lead the adoption and expansion of React Native within an existing native iOS and Android ecosystem using a brownfield approach • Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable mobile application features • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences • Optimize mobile performance across startup time, bundle size, memory usage, and frame-rate stability • Contribute to technical planning, mobile architecture decisions, and tooling strategy • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, strengthening overall mobile engineering excellence • Support shared cross-platform design systems and reusable UI components Required Qualifications • Extensive experience building cross-platform mobile applications using React Native • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and type-safe, maintainable codebases • Experience bridging native modules and managing platform-specific configurations • Deep understanding of mobile UI implementation, state management, and platform behaviors • Proven ability to own projects end-to-end from concept through delivery • Strong collaboration skills within hybrid (onsite and remote) team environments Preferred Qualifications • Experience working within large mobile organizations supporting 10+ feature teams • Hands-on leadership of React Native adoption for complex native applications • Experience with React Native for Web • Familiarity with shared design systems and cross-platform component libraries • Expertise with Expo SDK, EAS Build/Submit/Update, and OTA deployment workflows • Knowledge of app distribution tools such as TestFlight and Google Play Console • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and EAS Build • Proactive problem solver with a passion for modern mobile technologies and fast-paced environments
