Role description
The Women's Technical Division are looking for a Data Analyst to lead the development of scalable and accessible reporting tools & systems specific to the Women's Game to deliver actionable insight that supports staff decision making regarding the identification, profiling and selection of players eligible for England teams. What will you be doing? β€’ Work with the Recruitment Department on strategic priorities including, but not exclusively, player scouting, player monitoring, player identification and player selection β€’ Maintain and develop regular reports and visualisations to track talent reports, talent reporters and player coverage β€’ Develop statistical models to help the recruitment department identify, monitor, and assess the player pool β€’ Support the accurate reporting of English qualified players & coaches domestically and abroad β€’ Report regularly and accurately on the playing minutes within the pathway, and track trends over time to provide insight β€’ To be a translator of complex information to a variety of stakeholders. Both visually through verbal and visual means β€’ Write, maintain and share detailed documentation of processes β€’ Rigorous data checking processes to ensure both internal and external data sources are complete, accurate and consistent β€’ Work with the rest of the Data and Technology Team on strategic planning, team development and wider Technical Directorate projects β€’ Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities. β€’ Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing can be maintained. β€’ As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance. What are we looking for? Essential for the role: Technical Skills β€’ Demonstrable competence of interacting with cloud databases using SQL language (preferably Google Big Query) β€’ Experience in working with Python libraries for data analysis. Including Pandas, NumPy & Matplotlib β€’ Background or qualification in mathematics or statistics β€’ Demonstrable competence with Tableau software to build intuitive narratives (or similar BI tools) Experience β€’ Experience in presentation and story telling β€’ Experience presenting complex outputs to a range of stakeholders Beneficial to have: Knowledge / Experience / Skills β€’ Background of working within sport and handling multiple data sources including player biographical, player event & player tracking data β€’ Knowledge or Experience in web-scraping programming β€’ A natural curiosity for finding insights and critical thinking mindset β€’ Performance Analysis or Coaching background / qualifications β€’ Experience with Big Query ML or Vertex AI β€’ Knowledge or Experience of Streamlit build What's in it for you?
