Enterprise Data Architect
CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a leading organisation to appoint a seasoned and dedicated Enterprise Data Architect to successfully design, implement and oversee the large-scale, enterprise-wide data plan, roadmap and architecture for the business.
Due to the nature of the business, the implementation will be complex and requires a seasoned Data Architect/Consultant who possesses both deep, technical hands-on knowledge and operational/business-facing expertise (board-level reporting, organisational change conscious) and the ability to evaluate and integrate the most effective data-centric solutions.
Therefore, the role requires an individual who has implemented new data programmes from scratch (using Microsoft technologies) and understands both the associated challenges and opportunities.
Role Requirements
• Design and roadmap the enterprise data models, entities and deliverables across the client data estate (Azure CDM/SDM, Dynamics 365, External web-applications)
• Lead the organisations E2E data strategy (ingress, deletion, retention and egress)
• Evaluate different data platforms, models and technologies to identify the most appropriate and efficient to adopt and implement
• Understand and document business and data-centric project requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with BI, Data, Development (and other) teams to ensure reporting, analytics and core operational needs are sufficed
• Present updates, write business cases and keep senior stakeholders/board members updates on programme progress
• Implement the Microsoft technology data programme
• Scale up the internal team as required to deliver the data programme
• Ensure the programme is delivered to-spec, on-time and to budget
Required Skills & Experience
• Demonstrable track record of implementing an end-to-end data programme in an enterprise environment
• Ability to implement a best practice data framework
• Able to translate complex business requirements into logical data models
• Exceptional enterprise architecture design expertise
• Expert-level knowledge of the Microsoft data stack (e.g.):
o Power BI
o Azure Data Services
o MS Fabric
o Databricks
o Azure Cosmos DB
o Synapse Analytics
o Azure Data Factory
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills
• Strong stakeholder/senior management communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical ideas into simple concepts
• Both a technical and operational/business-conscious approach
• Public Sector experience (highly desirable)
• Considerate of business change
• Able to work on-site in Birmingham 1 day per week
