Role description
Job Title: Enterprise Database Administrator
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: Long term Contract
Responsibilities:
a. Experience designing, developing, enhancing, supporting, and maintaining
enterprise data solutions, including data architecture, data modeling, data
quality, data integration, and reporting solutions supporting complex business
applications.
b. Experience with relational database design, SQL development, database
administration, and performance optimization using MySQL and Oracle,
including schema design, SQL tuning, indexing, data integrity, and database
security. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, or comparable
relational database platforms is desirable.
c. Experience developing and implementing data quality processes, including
data profiling, data validation, data cleansing, data reconciliation, integrity
checks, and establishing data quality standards and controls.
d. Experience designing and supporting data integration solutions involving
MySQL, Oracle, and other enterprise database platforms, including ETL/ELT
processes, data migration, data exchanges, APIs, middleware, and integration
between enterprise systems.
e. Experience using database development, administration, monitoring, and
DevOps tools, including MySQL tools, Oracle SQL Developer, Azure DevOps,
GitHub, or similar technologies.
f. Experience implementing database security, access controls, governance
practices, and compliance requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity,
and availability of enterprise data.
g. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services, including Oracle
cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure data services, Amazon Web Services
(AWS), cloud databases, data lakes, data warehouses, or similar modern data
architectures.
h. Experience evaluating, integrating, or developing solutions using artificial
intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), generative AI, large language models
(LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent document
processing, embeddings, vector databases, NoSQL databases, and similar
emerging technologies is highly desirable.
Experience:
a. Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database design, data
governance, data management, and data lifecycle principles.
b. Knowledge of relational database platforms, including MySQL, Oracle, and
Microsoft SQL Server, including schema design, SQL development, query
optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
c. Knowledge of data quality principles and practices, including data profiling, data
validation, data cleansing, data reconciliation, data integrity, and establishing
data quality standards and controls.
d. Knowledge of data integration concepts and technologies, including ETL/ELT
Version 2.0 CAPS.
e. Knowledge of database security principles, access controls, cybersecurity best
practices, and regulatory requirements related to enterprise data.
f. Knowledge of modern data platforms and architectures, including cloud
databases, data lakes, data warehouses, NoSQL databases, vector databases,
and other emerging data technologies.
g. Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-based data services, including
Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle cloud technologies, and
similar platforms.
h. Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), generative AI,
large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG),
intelligent document processing, embeddings, and AI-ready data architectures.
i. Ability to analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into
effective data solutions and architectures.
j. Ability to communicate technical information effectively and establish effective
working relationships with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors,
and data owners.
