Role description
ERP Business Analyst – Essex – 12-month Contract (37 hours per week) - £55 - £61 per hour (Inside IR35) – SC Clearance or willing to undergo SC Clearance
Datasource Recruitment are seeking an ERP Business Analyst to support a major ERP transformation programme within a leading global aerospace and defence organisation. Operating within a complex, matrixed environment, you will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyse current processes, and support the successful delivery of ERP system improvements.
The role will involve business process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and supporting solution design, ensuring that the new ERP platform aligns with operational needs. You will also play a key part in data migration activities, including data preparation, cleansing, and validation to ensure legacy data is accurately structured for the new system. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile transformation programme within a highly innovative and technologically advanced organisation
This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site per week in Essex.
The Key Responsibilities of an ERP Business Analyst:
• Working with stakeholders to gather both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Analyse business processes and identify improvement areas.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications.
• Support ERP solution design ensuring it aligns with Business goals.
• Prepare data for migration and cleansing.
• Write test cases and support UAT.
• Maintain traceability of requirements.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to support change management and business readiness.
• Work within a matrix organisation, supporting global project teams.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for an ERP Business Analyst, however you will not be expected to have everything:
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst with ERP Systems or transformation projects.
• Requirements and Business Process Mapping tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Excel.
• Data analysis, reporting, and validating tools such as Excel, SQL, and tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience working in an Agile or Waterfall environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to query databases and understand data structures.
• Ability to analyse data trends and generate insights.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
• Familiar with use cases, user stories, and process flow documentation.
• Understanding of BPMN and business process modelling.
• Experience writing test cases and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Familiar with testing tools and defect tracking systems.
