Job Overview:
The Contractor, Epidemiology Data Analytics, will support real-world data (RWD) analytics in oncology within AbbVieβs Global Epidemiology function. This role focuses on designing and executing epidemiology analyses, operationalizing clinical variables, and delivering actionable insights to support observational studies and clinical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Apply general to advanced epidemiology research techniques to answer drug safety and oncology-related research questions.
β’ Develop and manage data analysis plans; perform advanced SAS programming to operationalize clinical concepts and measures.
β’ Conduct data exploration, prepare tables, listings, and visualizations, and contribute to interpretation of results.
β’ Understand strengths and limitations of RWD sources, including oncology EMRs and health insurance claims.
β’ Perform comprehensive literature reviews on RWD methodology and coding algorithms; provide insights for study protocols and proposals.
β’ Communicate with RWD vendors to resolve technical and data quality issues.
β’ Act as a knowledge developer by creating best-practice repositories, establishing standards, and ensuring consistency across projects.
β’ Anticipate potential risks impacting timelines or quality and propose mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
β’ MPH or MS in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field; Ph.D. preferred
β’ 4-5 years of epidemiology/public health experience with a Masterβs, or 1-2 years with a Ph.D.; pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
β’ Proficient in SAS, SQL, R, or equivalent statistical software; SAS Advanced Programming certificate preferred.
β’ Extensive experience manipulating and analyzing oncology RWD (EMRs, claims).
β’ Knowledge of oncology data analysis strongly preferred.
β’ Experience generating validated tables, listings, and graphs for clinical projects; understanding of QA/validation processes.
