Role description
Role Title: Excel Data Analyst / Learning Data Analyst Employment Type: Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension) Preferred Location: Midwest (Remote considered) Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Excel Data Analyst / Learning Data Analyst to support data migration and preparation efforts across employee and learning systems. This role will focus heavily on working with large datasets, ensuring data quality, and preparing structured data for system integrations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in Excel, enjoys working with complex datasets, and has experience supporting data migration or integration initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Work extensively with large Excel and CSV datasets to support migration and integration efforts • Clean, manipulate, and prepare data for system-to-system transfers • Utilize advanced Excel functions such as XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and comparison formulas • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency • Identify and troubleshoot CSV formatting issues, data limitations, and integration risks • Support data preparation for integrations with learning platforms and related systems • Structure and deliver datasets aligned to project timelines and business requirements • Collaborate with internal teams using SharePoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Office tools Required Qualifications • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data manipulation • Proven experience working with large, complex datasets and CSV files • Experience supporting data migrations or system integrations • Solid understanding of data validation, error detection, and data quality processes • Ability to work independently and manage data-related tasks with minimal supervision • Several years of hands-on Excel/data analysis experience (not entry-level) Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills • Experience with Power Query in Excel • Background in Learning & Development (L&D) or learning technology systems • Experience working with employee, training, or HR-related data Typical Backgrounds May Include: • Data Analyst • Learning Data Analyst • Learning Technologist
