Job Summary:NumInformatics is seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Analyst to support our ongoing work with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This is an exciting opportunity for professionals experienced in working with regulatory financial data, particularly from CFTC-regulated entities. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with SAS, SQL, Tableau, and Python, and a passion for data integration, visualization, and advanced analytics. The role is on-site and will support mission-critical decision-making through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze financial and regulatory data from CFTC-regulated entities (e.g., SDRs, SEFs, DCOs, DCMs, SDs, FCMs).
Conduct business analysis including requirement gathering, design documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Design and maintain scalable ETL workflows and pipelines handling large-scale datasets (1B+ rows).
Clean, merge, and transform complex datasets using SAS and SQL.
Build dynamic, interactive dashboards using Tableau, Python (Dash/Plotly), or AWS QuickSight.
Conduct anomaly detection and advanced data wrangling on non-standard datasets.
Integrate data across multiple environments, including AWS, Azure, and local sources.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine KPIs and validate data integrity.
Learn and incorporate modern Python-based tools to automate and streamline analytical workflows.
Leverage financial data platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal and Refinitiv Eikon.
Document technical work and present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Use Azure DevOps or TFS for version control and task management.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
4+ years of data analysis experience in a financial regulatory or services environment (e.g., CFTC, SEC, FDIC, OCC, FRB).
Strong hands-on experience with:
SQL (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server), SAS (EG, Viya)
Data visualization tools: Tableau, Python (Dash/Plotly), or QuickSight
Python libraries: pandas, NumPy, QuantLib, SciPy, dash, plotly, etc.
Working in IDEs such as Spyder and Jupyter Notebook
Core AWS services and Microsoft Azure platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with datasets over 1 billion records across hybrid cloud environments.
Strong data transformation and ETL skills.
Familiarity with JupyterHub, RStudio, Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, and MATLAB.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate complex findings effectively.
