Role description
This is a REMOTE Long Term Contract (W2 or 1099) - No Third Parties; No Sponsorship Hours are EST Client is seeking a highly analytical Senior Financial Data Analyst with a strong background in SQL and experience in the health insurance or TPA (Third-Party Administrator) space. This role will support long-term projects where the ability to quickly understand complex data and deliver actionable insights is critical. Ideal candidates can hit the ground running with minimal training and are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment. Responsibilities (additions / tweaks): • Develop, run, and maintain complex SQL queries and reports to support business needs with efficiency and accuracy. • Analyze financial and operational data rapidly and independently, providing insights that drive strategic decisions. • Evaluate operational processes and custom client solutions to assess cost, feasibility, and efficiency, identifying opportunities for quick wins and longer-term improvements. • Partner with internal teams to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable insights, ensuring timely follow-up and recommendations. • Work independently on long-term projects with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results without constant guidance. Required Qualifications (emphasize self-sufficiency & execution): • 5+ years of experience in financial data analysis, ideally within a TPA or health insurance company, with a track record of quickly ramping up and delivering results. • Strong SQL skills and ability to create queries/reports independently and efficiently. • Familiarity with TPA operations, Blue Cross Blue Shield, or similar carriers. • Solid understanding of finance within healthcare (AR/AP, plan codes, deductibles, out-of-pocket tracking). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to translate findings into timely, actionable insights. • Comfortable with remote work and East Coast business hours, self-directed and able to maintain momentum on projects. Preferred Qualifications (optional tweak): • Experience with engineering or technical solutions that intersect with financial analysis, able to learn new tools quickly. • Exposure to large-scale claims or client data migration projects, demonstrating ability to manage complex projects efficiently.
