Financial Engineer (Equity & Commodities Trading Desk)

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Financial Engineer (Equity & Commodities Trading Desk) Position type: Contract Location: New York 10020 (Hybrid) As a Financial Engineer (Equity & Commodities Trading Desk), Your responsibilities will include: • Provide day-to-day technical support to traders handling complex derivatives products • Troubleshoot platform and trade-related issues in real time, ensuring minimal disruption • Ensure accurate trade capture, event processing, and risk representation across systems • Collaborate with global Tech/Ops teams on system rollouts, enhancements, and automation • Perform reconciliation processes, ensure system integrity, and maintain connectivity • Contribute to technical documentation and maintain support runbooks for production Qualifications: • Years of experience supporting Equity Derivatives or Commodities trading systems • Exposure to derivatives products: Futures, Swaps, Options (Vanilla & Exotic), TRS • Solid understanding of trade booking and front-to-back workflows • Prior experience with Murex or Calypso is a strong plus • Strong SQL/database and UNIX/Linux skills • Familiarity with Bloomberg, job scheduling tools, and JIRA • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Financial Engineering, or a related STEM field • Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working on a trading floor in a high-pressure environment Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced Excel • Experience with ETL and data pipelines • Experience supporting mission-critical applications Project Overview : • Support Engineer to join our front-office technology team, providing direct support to a high-impact Equity Derivatives & Commodities Futures trading desk. • This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires hands-on experience in trading floor support, a strong understanding of derivatives products, and the ability to communicate effectively with traders and cross-functional teams.
