Financial Trade Data Analyst 18 Month W2 Contract Hybrid 3 days onsite 2 days remote $60-$68/hour Jersey City, NJ ONE AND DONE ONSITE INTERVIEW MONDAY/TUESDAY @4pm Perform second line of defense trade monitoring of for firm and client trading activity to detect potential market abuse/manipulation practices for Treasury and Global market Utilize vendor surveillance tools like Actimize/SMARTS and internal systems to research alerts generated across different asset classes including but not limited to Fixed Income, Futures and Equities Possess strong analytical background and research capability to analyze large amounts of trading data, and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to engage compliance, traders and business supervisors to discuss potential issues. Completing daily review of trade data from Trade surveillance systems designed to meet regulatory obligations which will include analysis of trading activity Ensure surveillance issues are identified, fully investigated, and promptly escalated in a timely manner. Evaluate and explore surveillance methodologies used by the Trade Surveillance team to optimize and maximize the efficiency of current reviews. Conduct testing of model thresholds, parameters and functionality to determine if the risks are being appropriately captured by the Treasury and Global market surveillance models Assists with changes to data capture processes, data transformation logic and helps maintain an inventory of data transformation Analyzing, monitoring, interpreting, and reporting data from core Business Controls tools/processes and leveraging it to identify and drive resolution of potential issues or inefficiencies Required Skills Data-driven, analytical mindset and approach to problem solving Expert in data analytics, mining, manipulation, aggregation, integration, and reporting Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills. Must be able to own/understand a process from end-to-end, be able to identify weaknesses in the process and identify and implement solutions / automations, be able to challenge others on the facts of the process. 4+ years' experience with strong hands on knowledge of SQL,TOAD, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint 4+ years' experience having performed business analyst writing functional and business requirement documents Experience with large data sets to develop statistical relationships and models and/or advance analytics knowledge (data mining, statistics, trend and pattern identification, etc.) Gather and catalog functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests and ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to be efficient and consistently deliver high-quality work under time constraints. Strong technical background and experience interfacing with technical teams Experience with electronic communications surveillance and monitoring is preferred Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, predictive modelling and statistical techniques SQL (writing queries), Data mining, BA experience, DA experience, Understanding of trade life cycle (finance is a must), TOAD, Oracle DB, Excel / Powerpoint Ongoing, working to build trade surveillance application to be used across the bank. Person will be working with BAs and Devs to analyze data.
