Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
We are seeking a skilled FinOps Engineer to drive financial accountability, optimize cloud spend, and improve forecasting across our technology organization. This role provides hand on technical leadership for the FinOps function, focused on driving efficiencies, embedding cost accountability into engineering workflows, and leveraging automation and AI assisted insights to reduce technology spend at scale.
The role partners closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Finance to ensure cost is treated as a first class operational and design consideration.
Required Qualifications:
• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

• 6-10+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering
• Hands on experience with Azure and GCP cost management, billing models, and optimization
• Experience managing and optimizing on prem or hybrid infrastructure costs
• Proven FinOps experience delivering:
• Application level cost visibility, allocation, and chargeback
• Identify optimization opportunities (rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, storage lifecycle, architectural efficiencies).
• Budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and variance analysis
• Measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Strong automation and engineering capabilities, including:
• Scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent)
• Building automated guardrails, alerts, and remediation workflows
• AI assisted FinOps automation experience, such as:
• Using AI driven insights or anomaly detection to identify inefficiencies and spend risks
• Automating cost insight generation, recommendations, or remediation actions
• Experience implementing tagging, allocation, and governance standards at scale
• Ability to integrate cost controls into engineering pipelines and operational processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical cost drivers into business impact
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience operating FinOps in large scale or multi cloud environments
• Kubernetes or container cost optimization experience
• Experience embedding cost as a non functional requirement (NFR) in architecture and design reviews
• Familiarity with third party FinOps or cloud cost management platforms
• FinOps Foundation certification or demonstrated applied FinOps maturity
