Role Overview
This role focuses on supporting the setup, maintenance, and development of data pipelines, models, ontologies, and workflows within Palantir Foundry to enable scalable analytics and operational insights. Role Highlights:
β’ Position: Foundry Platform Developer / Senior Data Engineer
β’ Location: Washington DC / Alexandria VA β Hybrid strongly preferred (2β3 days onsite)
β’ Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
β’ Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required
β’ Pay Rate: Highly flexible and competitive, based on experience ($200-230K+)
β’ Interview Process: 1β2 rounds via video
β’ Remote Option: Will consider remote U.S.-based candidates depending on client/project for similar Foundry developer openings Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, implement, and maintain Foundry pipelines ingesting data from internal and external systems
β’ Format, cleanse, and enrich data for downstream analytics and applications
β’ Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot platform connections, and optimize asset performance
β’ Build and maintain datasets, objects, and ontologies to support analytics and operations
β’ Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to refine workflows, templates, and integrations
β’ Implement access controls, metadata management, and governance best practices
β’ Identify automation and performance improvement opportunities within Foundry
β’ Stay current on new Foundry features and development best practices Top Must-Have Requirements:
β’ At least 1 year of direct Palantir Foundry experience (pipeline building, object maintenance, app development)
β’ 6+ years overall development experience (e.g., PySpark, Databricks, low-code, data engineering)
β’ Strong understanding of low-code modules and Foundryβs application development layer
β’ Ability to coach/lead technical teams in a collaborative client-facing environment
β’ Federal/DoD experience preferred Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or related field
β’ Active Secret Clearance
β’ Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL frameworks
β’ Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP and integrating cloud/on-prem data sources
β’ Solid knowledge of data modeling, metadata, ontologies, and governance best practices Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience working in federal or regulated environments
β’ Prior hands-on Foundry work (creating pipelines, establishing objects, monitoring asset health)
β’ Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks
β’ Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
