We're Hiring: Freelance Excel Consultant – Event Dashboard Audit & Optimisation Location: Remote Contract: Short-term freelance Start Date: ASAP Duration: 2–4 weeks Sector: Events / Sports / Charity / Data Analytics / Finance The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Excel consultant or data analyst to audit and optimise our Public Event Dashboard, a critical tool used to track participant numbers, revenue, and projections across our flagship mass participation endurance events. This dashboard integrates data from our registration platform and supports monthly reconciliation with our finance system (Xero). Since transitioning platforms, we’ve encountered formula inconsistencies and data integrity issues that need expert attention. What You’ll Do • Conduct a comprehensive audit of our Excel-based dashboard • Identify and fix broken formulas, logic errors, and structural weaknesses • Improve data integration from our registration platform • Enhance usability for non-technical users (e.g. colour coding, error flags) • Optionally: Recommend automation to improve efficiencies and accuracies (Power Query, VBA, or Google Sheets) What You’ll Need • Proven experience in advanced Excel modelling • Strong understanding of cross-tab logic, financial dashboards, and data reconciliation • Experience working with event registration data or e-commerce-style reporting • Bonus: Familiarity with Power Query, VBA, or Google Sheets scripting • Clear communication and documentation skills Deliverables • A written audit report with findings and recommendations • An updated version of the dashboard with improved structure and logic • A handover guide or Loom walkthrough for internal teams How to Apply Please email careers@ThresholdSports.co.uk with: • An up-to-date CV • A short cover letter / introduction highlighting relevant experience • Examples of similar work (screenshots or links welcome) • Your availability and rate (fixed or hourly) • Any initial thoughts on how you’d approach the audit This is a great opportunity to work with a purpose-driven team delivering mass participation events with impact.
