Role description
IR35 Status: Inside Role title: Full-Stack Developer Rate: £400-405/d Onsite requirement: Fully remote Contract length: 6 months Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain robust, secure, and scalable applications and APIs within a modern cloud environment (primarily AWS). • Collaborate closely with product managers, delivery managers, business analysts, user researchers, and other engineers. • Contribute to the technical direction and architectural decisions within the team. • Write clean, testable code following best practices in security, accessibility, and DevOps. • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous integration/deployment processes. • Help troubleshoot and resolve live service issues, ensuring high availability and resilience. • Work within GDS (Government Digital Service) standards, contributing to open-source where applicable. Essential Skills and Experience • Tech stack: • Frontend- Express/Casa/Nunjuks with Typescript • Backend- Java/Spring boot with some AWS integration's (SNS/SQS mostly) • Data- MongoDB • Infra- AWS with terraform for IaC • Kubernetes • Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices. • Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset. • Experience in automated testing and writing maintainable code. • Comfortable working in a government/public sector or regulated environment, or a willingness to adapt to such. • You will be expected to take ownership of your work and contribute to team planning and delivery decisions. Desirable Skills • Knowledge of the DWP tech stack or previous work on government digital services. • Exposure to accessibility standards, security best practices, and performance tuning. • Understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging.
