Role description
Job Title: GCP Cloud Solutions Architect Location: Remote / Eagan, MN Duration: Long-term (24+ Months) Description Responsible for designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing. Analyzes system requirements and ensures secure integration with current applications. Deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent architectural experience) preferred. Must have experience communicating with key executives in a concise yet analytical manner. Required Skills & Capabilities (Must be Demonstrated via Actual Work Experience) Expert knowledge of Google Cloud services with an Active Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification. Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate business systems, develop requirements, and identify Google Cloud-centric solutions for optimum performance and cost effectiveness. Knowledge of: Industry developments, business information systems, and practices Development methods, procedures, standards, techniques Agile application lifecycle Test-driven development Continuous integration of code development Current cloud technologies, especially Google Cloud Experience: Leading design, development, and deployment of performant cloud business software (Google Cloud at scale) Technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization Integration: Google Cloud with SaaS or on-premises technologies (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Linux, SAP, etc.) Compliance & Risk: IT compliance in regulated environments (SOX, PCI) for cloud applications Automation Skills: Google Cloud scripting/coding Tools: Shell, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet Enterprise Architecture Knowledge: Cloud services, servers, storage, virtualization, high availability, performance management, enterprise infrastructure monitoring for web-scale systems Additional Professional Skills Strong communication skills (oral & written) for management briefings, technical guidance, and reports Design patterns for scalable/maintainable solutions Code, model, and technical solution documentation Proficiency in Generative AI & prompt engineering CI/CD, containerization, deployment strategies for Kafka in large-scale production SQL & NoSQL database querying and management Technical diagram tools: Microsoft Visio, Draw.io Documentation & Presentation tools: Microsoft Word (technical design & architecture documents) Microsoft PowerPoint (business/technical presentations) Microsoft Excel & Power BI (data visualization & reporting) Leadership: Works on high-visibility, mission-critical projects independently, oversees teams and staff Tasks (Not Exhaustive) Advise/assist IT groups on Cloud-based Microservices/SOA architectures Create architecture deliverables: bill of materials, components, cost estimations, design parameters Prepare solution descriptions, assumptions, technical approaches, risk/mitigation plans Lead cultural change for cloud adoption and develop infrastructure solution roadmaps Create and communicate cloud policies, procedures, standards, and reference architectures Identify training needs and deliver materials for cloud-based solution standards Interface with vendors to ensure adherence to standard architectures Provide technical direction to management and IT professionals Ensure alignment of infrastructure/application design with enterprise architecture and industry best practices Research industry/market trends and make recommendations Apply architecture governance to solution areas Publish/update solution standards for cloud-hosted solutions Provide SWAT team-level leadership for problem-solving in IT systems Education 13–20 years relevant experience required Degree from an accredited college/university preferred If no degree, 4 additional years relevant experience required If degree is not in applicable field, 4 additional years related experience required
