Role description
GCP / DevOps / Cloud Engineer - Cloud rebuild and design | GCP, BigQuery, Data, Security | Leading Digital Publisher / Finance • 2-month contract • £550 - £650 p/d Outside IR35 • Fully Remote The Role Our client, a global digital publisher and consumer finance platform, is launching a short-term project to audit, secure, and rebuild their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure to best-practice standards. You’ll work directly with the CTO, taking ownership of the environment to ensure it’s secure, compliant, and scalable as a future customer data platform. This is a hands-on cloud security and infrastructure role in a fast-paced, delivery-focused setting, where strong BigQuery expertise is essential. Non-Negotiable Experience • Advanced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) administration • BigQuery and data infrastructure expertise • Proven application of cloud security best practices • VPC and GCP networking design knowledge Core Focus Areas Phase 1 – Audit & Secure the Existing GCP Environment, which looks like: • Role based access • Privileged Identity Management (PIM) • segregation of duties • encryption keys • audit logs • anomaly detection • SCIM Phase 2 – and then, build a New Simplified Environment: • Design and deploy a new GCP architecture. • This will then act as a robust ‘customer data platform’ that sits on Hightouch. You will essentially be re-architecting/building a new GCP platform that will be structured and secured to comply to USA data compliance laws which the CTO will outline to you. (HIPAA or healthcare compliance experience not required – context can be learned on the job.) Why Join / Project Impact This is an opportunity to define security and governance foundations for a high-visibility platform under a globally recognised brand. You’ll have autonomy, clear objectives, and the chance to deliver meaningful improvements to a cloud environment that underpins data-driven publishing worldwide.
