Role description
Platform/DevOps Engineer Role - GCP..
Weβre looking for a hands-on Platform / DevOps Engineer with deep experience running production workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). This role is for someone who enjoys building, automating, and operating cloud-native platforms - not just designing them.
Youβll own Kubernetes infrastructure end to end: provisioning, CI/CD, deployments, service mesh, and day-to-day operations in a modern GCP environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and operate GKE clusters in production environments
Automate cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes-based deployments
Implement and manage Istio service mesh for traffic management, security, and observability
Support containerized microservices at scale
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Have)
β’ Strong hands-on experience with GKE in production
β’ Solid Kubernetes fundamentals (networking, RBAC, scaling, troubleshooting)
β’ Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
β’ Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
β’ CI/CD experience with Harness
β’ Strong GitHub workflow experience (PRs, branching, automation)
β’ Experience with Istio Service Mesh (traffic routing, mTLS, canary/blue-green deployments)
β’ Deep understanding of containers and cloud-native architectures
Β£500 per day - 6 Month Contract
Office Locations: Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Manchester, Edinburgh
