Title: Senior Dynatrace Engineer Location: Atlanta, Georgia 30308 (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months Job Description: Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for coordinating, designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise computer databases that store and manage large volumes of critical business information. The selected candidate will serve as a senior-level subject matter expert (SME), providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams and may function in a lead capacity when required. This position supports the Program and focuses on enterprise monitoring, observability, infrastructure performance, and application reliability across hybrid, multi-cloud, and microservices-based environments. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to automate monitoring, troubleshoot performance issues, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to ensure optimal system availability and performance. Key Responsibilities Monitoring & Observability β€’ Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise monitoring solutions using Dynatrace. β€’ Enable end-to-end observability across infrastructure, applications, and services. β€’ Develop dashboards, health checks, reports, and alerting strategies to ensure system availability and reliability. β€’ Monitor service performance and fine-tune alert thresholds to minimize false positives. Infrastructure Monitoring β€’ Monitor Windows and Linux servers, VMware environments, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP. β€’ Support monitoring of databases, middleware, storage, and network infrastructure. β€’ Partner with infrastructure and cloud teams to identify capacity trends and performance improvements. β€’ Proactively detect and resolve potential issues before they impact production environments. Application Performance Monitoring β€’ Utilize Dynatrace to monitor application performance, transaction flows, and service dependencies. β€’ Support Synthetic Monitoring and Real User Monitoring (RUM). β€’ Collaborate with application development teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage. β€’ Assist in troubleshooting application and infrastructure performance issues. Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis β€’ Participate in incident response activities related to application performance and system availability. β€’ Provide monitoring insights during troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). β€’ Identify monitoring gaps and implement improvements to strengthen observability. Continuous Improvement β€’ Enhance monitoring standards, documentation, and operational procedures. β€’ Recommend improvements to monitoring configurations, dashboards, and alert strategies. β€’ Support integration of monitoring platforms with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools. Required Qualifications Education β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Experience β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or enterprise monitoring. β€’ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace or a comparable Application Performance Monitoring (APM) platform. Technical Skills β€’ Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. β€’ Experience with VMware or other virtualized environments. β€’ Hands-on experience monitoring cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. β€’ Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing. β€’ Experience with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash (preferred). β€’ Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized application monitoring. β€’ Working knowledge of ITIL practices and experience supporting regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services. Soft Skills β€’ Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. β€’ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. β€’ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset.
